What is the difference between biostimulators and filler?

While classified as dermal filler, Sculptra and Radiesse contain unique ingredients that address various concerns. Sculptra : FDA-approved Sculptra contains a collagen stimulator called poly-L-lactic acid, which reduces deep wrinkles when injected into the skin. Radiesse : Composed of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA), Radiesse stimulates collagen production. It can reduce wrinkles and folds after a single treatment. Dermal fillers typically provide instant results, while biostimulators require multiple treatments and provide gradual but longer-lasting results. Additionally, we can apply biostimulators to various body parts, whereas fillers typically focus on the face.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of sessions you need depends on your goals. Generally, we recommend 3 to 4 treatments for our clients. Your nurse injector will adjust the number based on your aesthetic goals.

What can I expect after my biostimulator treatment?

You may experience redness, mild swelling, and bruising in the injection sites following your treatment. These conditions will fade in a few days. You can alleviate symptoms with over-the-counter medication or by applying a cold compress intermittently during the first 24 hours.

The Lolia Experience

Step 1: Appointment

Come see us for a complimentary consultation! One of our nurse injectors will meet with you to go over your treatment options and answer any questions you have.

Step 2: Treatment

First, your nurse injector will map out the treatment areas and apply a topical numbing cream. Then, they will administer the injection.

Step 3: Results

Recovery can take 2 to 3 days. You may experience bruising and swelling. Final results should settle within 3 to 6 months of your last treatment, and can last up to 3 years.

Avoid blood thinners such as aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, fish oil, and alcohol for 3 to 5 days prior to your appointment.
Consult with your doctor before discontinuing any prescribed medications.
Avoid using harsh skincare products.

Post-Care Instructions

Massage the areas of injections for 5 minutes, 5 times a day for 5 days.
Refrain from exercising for the next 24 hours.
Do not apply makeup for 24 hours.
Stay out of direct sunlight for 72 hours.
Use a cold compress intermittently during the first 24 hours.
