How does lip filler work?

Made from hyaluronic acid, filler increases collagen production in and around the lips, which adds volume and improves the skin’s cellular structure. At Lolia Aesthetics, we provide 4 different options for filler: Restylane: Designed to promote natural-looking results and create a balance between lip movement and enhanced beauty. Juvederm: Encourages plumper lips and softens the appearance of lip lines. RHA: Provides natural-looking results and fluid facial movement. Versa: Creates smoother-looking lips and promotes long-lasting results. Our experienced providers regularly work with each brand of filler. Their knowledge and education ensure that you receive the proper product to help you reach your goals.

Who is a good candidate?

A good candidate for lip filler is someone in good health who has realistic expectations and goals for treatment. During the consultation, your provider will review the health requirements for treatment, which include the following: No active infections (cold sores, canker sores, etc.) No bleeding disorders No allergies to hyaluronic acid Not recommended for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding

Can I pair this treatment with additional services?

At Lolia Aesthetics, you can pair our filler service with Botox . Botox is an injectable that smooths out fine lines and wrinkles that appear when making facial expressions. Combined, these two services provide our clients with a more youthful appearance. You may also pair this service with dermal filler. Dermal filler is another injectable that fills in areas of your face that have experienced a loss of volume or skin laxity. Paired with lip filler, you can treat yourself to a fresher overall look and increased collagen production for lasting results. Speak to your provider about setting up an additional appointment for Botox.

What does the treatment feel like?

The Lolia Experience

Step 1: Consultation

Ready to learn more about lip filler? See us for a complimentary consultation! One of our nurse injectors will meet with you to discuss your treatment options and answer any questions you have.

Step 2: Treatment

First, you’ll lie down in a comfortable position. Your nurse injector will map out the areas for injections and then provide a topical numbing cream. Then, your nurse injector will administer the filler into the lips.

Step 3: Results

Recovery can take 3 to 7 days. During this time, you may experience bruising and swelling. You can expect to see initial results immediately following treatment. Full results appear in about 2 weeks.

Pre-Care Instructions

Avoid taking blood thinners at least 5 days before treatment. Some medications can cause negative side effects, such as increased bruising in the treatment area.
We recommend consulting with your primary care physician before you stop taking any prescribed medications.
Please do not schedule any immunizations or dental work 2 weeks before or immediately following your treatment. Additionally, we cannot proceed with treatment if you are sick with an illness (cold, flu, etc.).

Post-Care Instructions

We recommend taking a break from workouts for at least 24 hours following treatment. Exercise can increase blood flow, which can raise your chances of bruising.
Do not apply any makeup for at least 24 hours. Applying makeup to the injection site can cause irritation, displace the filler, or lead to infection.
Avoid puckering your lips for 3 to 5 days, including drinking out of a straw. To ease any swelling, you may apply a cold compress on and off as needed.
